Selling saltwater fish presents a challenge, besides the fact that most of them are wild caught. We cater to a larger percentage of people who are starting their first saltwater tanks and are used to stocking heavily with little or no regard for species interaction.Things can be dicey when choosing tank mates for your saltwater tank. That is why T's Olde Towne Pet Shop is very adamant about educating each client before they make a purchase.

Saltwater fish, first and foremost are generally much more aggressive than their freshwater counterparts. They have evolved in very specialized niches in the wild and when they are introduced to our artificial habitats we must be concious of their behavioral quirks. Adding too many or adding the wrong tankmates can result in disasters, and at the elevated prices of these fish most people aren't prepared for the financial losses that can happen. That is why T's Olde Towne Pet Shop will always quiz you about what fish you already have, what size tank you have, and how long the tank has been set up. Don't be surprised if you are advised against buying a fish now and then. We are more interested in long term successes and a long term relationship rather than making a fast buck.

Keeping in mind the quirks and requirements for each species, T's Olde Towne Pet Shop will help you choose a colorful and interesting yet appropriate addition to your saltwater tank. We always take special care in advising you how to add your new occupant and a free dose of live brine shrimp is always available to divert your existing tank occupants from being aggressive during the first few minutes of your new fish's introduction, JUST ASK!
