SMALL BIRDS

We basically carry two main kinds of birds at T's Olde Towne Pet Shop. Finches and parakeets(budgies), are the two mainstays here. We place many of these birds into good homes and all are doing great and providing happiness to all who have bought them. I chose these because the majority of people who visit us have never kept birds and aren't equipped with the knowledge or aren't prepared for the challenges that large psitticines(parrots) present. Therefore it was my decision to stick to the more manageable yet lovely small birds.

Our finches are mostly zebra finches and these are sold as breeding pairs with a cage. A nest and bag of fresh seed are included in the low price. Care instructions are always provided and a unique thing that we do is to pay cash for any weaned babies you raise. There are lots of loving homes for these sweet birds and I would rather buy my stock from my own customers rather than from wholesalers. You can always see babies born at the store and you can be assured that your finches will be healthy.

Our parakeets are sweet and will always be clipped and tame at purchase. I used to train parrots at Disney World and will pass along tips on keeping your keet trained. I do not buy bulk birds and each parakeet I sell has been picked out personally by me and handled only by me. I usually only bring back one or two at a time to ensure special attention is paid to each bird before being sold. My budgies are sold with a cage and bag of fresh seed, along with care instructions.

Remember, a service that is provided by T's Olde Towne Pet Shop is free room and board and clipping to all birds that were purchased here. We are not a boarding facility but welcome our previous charges for short visits when their owners must leave town. Clipping is provided free of charge and lessons on how to perform this at home are always provided.

AND of course, while small birds are the specialty of T's Olde Towne Pet Shop, we do carry from time to time hand tame cocketiels and lovebirds. Just ask!
